César Fernández Sánchez

El Dr. César Fernández-Sánchez es licenciado en Química Analítica (1993) y doctor en Química (1999), ambos por la Universidad de Oviedo (España). De 2001 a 2003, trabajó como becario postdoctoral, obteniendo una beca Marie Curie Individual (6º Programa Marco de la UE), en la Universidad de Newcastle (Reino Unido), en el campo de los biosensores de impedancia. En 2004, se trasladó a Barcelona y se unió al Grupo de Transductores Químicos del Instituto de Microelectrónica de Barcelona (IMB-CNM (CSIC)), como investigador Ramón y Cajal. Desde 2009, es Científico Titular (Científico Titular) en IMB-CNM. Desde 2013, es el Jefe del Grupo de Transductores Químicos en el IMB-CNM (gtq.imb-cnm.csic.es/en).
Ha trabajado activamente en el desarrollo de microsistemas analíticos que incluyen dispositivos lab-on-chip, integrando sensores electroquímicos basados en diferentes modos de transducción (amperometría, voltamperometría y espectroscopía de impedancia) y receptores (bio) químicos. Sus actividades investigadoras también incluyen la biofuncionalización de sustratos y la aplicación de nanomateriales y materiales poliméricos orgánico-inorgánicos para el desarrollo de sensores químicos.
Ha participado en 25 proyectos (14 coordinados por él), otorgados por el Gobierno español, y ha participado en 9 proyectos de la UE (2 como PI de su institución y 1 como coordinador) de los programas marco FP7 y H2020. Ha publicado setenta y ocho artículos en revistas indexadas (índice h:26; citas:1845), co-supervisado 8 tesis doctorales (3 más en curso), presentado 106 comunicaciones a conferencias (10 invitadas) y es coautor de 11 patentes (2 licenciadas), todo en el área de electroquímica analítica y microsistemas para análisis biomédico y medioambiental.
