GTQ has developed the necessary tools (simulation, design, fabrication and characterization) to move from microelectronics to integrated optics technology, using silicon-based material.

In this way, there have been developed passive optical components (guides, 3dB splitters, directional couplers, filters ...), opto-chemical transducers and interferometric biosensors. 

In addition, we have fabricated, using silicon-rich silicon oxide structures, light emitting devices (LEDs) in visible range.
