Meritxell Rovira finished a bachelor in Chemistry at the University of Barcelona in 2016. She worked for a year in the Quality Control department of Grifols Institute while attending a postgraduate course in Application of Pharmaceutical Quality Standards. In 2018, she obtained a master's degree in Analytical Chemistry by the University of Barcelona. During the final master's project, she was at the Public Health Agency of Barcelona (ASPB) developing and validating a method for the detection of different potentially carcinogenic compounds present in food produced with refined oils.

In October 2018, she began her doctoral thesis in Chemistry within the Group of Chemical Transducers (GTQ) of the IMB-CNM. The aim of her thesis is to develop a device that analyzes sweat continuously and in real time during the performance of a physical activity.
