Emma Paola Corcoles Perpiñan
She holds a BSc in Chemistry and a Master in Analytical Chemistry from Universitat de Barcelona and received her PhD in Bioengineering from Imperial College London in August 2009. Her thesis was focused on the development of an in-vivo rapid sampling system for the continuous monitoring of biomarkers combining techniques such as microdialysis and electrochemical biosensor for early diagnosis of ischemia. Then she worked as a Lecturer in the Faculty of Bioscience and Medical Engineering in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. There she focused on the development of biosensors and microfluidics in paper and fabric substrates to enable easier and affordable diagnosis tools. In March 2015 she joined the GTQ group supported by TecnioSpring scholarship to continue her work with wearable healthcare devices.
