Gonzalo Vázquez Mariño obtained a Degree in "Chemical Sciences" from the University of A Coruña (UDC) in 2015. His final thesis focused on the synthesis and design of organometallic compounds of ruthenium and palladium with possible anti-cancer functions.

After that, in 2016, he completed a Master's Degree in "R & D of Medicines" by the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), where he collaborated in a Research Project in The Pharmaceutical Technology and Drugs liberation Unit, based on bioavailability in blood plasma and uterus of a bioadhesive emulsion of ciprofloxacin, after vaginal and intraperitoneal administration.

In 2017 he completed a second Master's Degree in "Materials Science" at the University of Barcelona (UB), where he worked on the electrochemical synthesis and functionalization of magnetic "nanorobots" for biomedical applications.

In September 2017, he joined to the National Microelectronics Center, collaborating in different projects based on the deposition of copper on power devices, using both physical evaporization and electrochemical (electroless) techniques.

Since September 2018 he works in the Group of Chemical Transducers (GTQ) of the IMB-CNM making microelectronic technology works for the manufacture and quality control of wireless chemical sensors.
